HIV Project Director
Cheriko (Riko) Boone joined TAG in November 2021 as the HIV project director, which includes managing all major HIV research advocacy, and implementing the ACT NOW:END AIDS (ANEA) Coalition. Before joining the TAG team, Riko’s experience included coordinating social services for families and youth affected by HIV; providing sexual and reproductive health counseling to young people; managing outreach and recruitment for several research studies; and leading community engagement around HIV prevention and cure research. He also has experience implementing several CDC Effective Behavioral Interventions.
Riko is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Social Psychology from George Washington University. He has a B.A. in Community Health from Brown University; an M.P.H. from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health; an M.S.W. from Columbia University School of Social Work; an M.A. in Psychology from George Washington University; and he is a Fellow of the ASPH/CDC Institute for HIV Prevention Leadership.
A fun fact about Riko is that he’s a great cook who enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and often dreams of one day battling it out on a televised cooking competition show.
