During this webinar we explored innovative strategies and successful interventions for addressing the unique challenges faced by people living with HIV who are experiencing homelessness. The webinar shed light on the intersectionality of HIV and homelessness, and presented evidence-based approaches that foster engagement, support, and empowerment within this vulnerable population.

This webinar was targeted toward HIV care providers, primary care providers, nurse practitioners, physician associates, students, other clinicians, and other healthcare professionals in primary care, HIV care, and STD clinic settings involved in the care of patients living with HIV and at risk for HIV.
Presenter Bios
Nhakia Outland (she, her, hers) is a queer, Black, woman and mother of three
children. She is a social worker, sexuality educator, sex therapist, speaker, certified
social work field instructor, adjunct professor and consultant with more than 15 years’ experience working primarily with people of color, Black, Latinx/a/e/o and LGBTQ+
communities in different capacities.
Deborah Shimberg LPC, studied and received her MA at Azusa University in California in 1983, and has worked for 40 years in individual, couple, family, career, and group counseling in settings in counseling, rehabilitation, housing, and social services. In her current role at Status Home, she is the therapist for clients in the Scattered Site Housing program and meets with clients in her office and in client’s homes around the Metro Atlanta area.
Joyelle Hines is a licensed professional counselor with fourteen years of experience as a licensed clinician. She’s an experienced clinical services manager with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry, and skilled in crisis intervention, family therapy, case management, and mental health counseling.
