To mark National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on February 7, 2023, Treatment Action Group (TAG) co-hosted a webinar “The Power of PrEP” in coalition with PrEP4All, Atlanta Black Women, AVAC, and iStrive. The event was moderated by TAG’s Senior HIV Community Engagement Officer Abraham Johnson and featured prominent Black HIV advocates.

The discussion focused on key community recommendations that emerged from the annual PrEP in Black America summit, such as representation of Black people at all levels of HIV prevention work, a robust PrEP education effort geared toward communities most affected by HIV, and moving toward a federally-funded national PrEP program that will meet the HIV prevention needs of all Black people in the U.S. Finally, the event included the first public announcement of the PrEP in Black America host city for 2023.
